Sociedade Transnacional Angolana de Seguros (STAS) was established in 2015. It provides insurance products to individuals and industrial customers in Angola, including oil and gas companies. Among its flagship products are health insurance, construction and infrastructure development insurance, travel insurance, workers’ compensation and automobile insurance. The company leverages its modern technology platforms that enable permanent contact with its customers. STAS does not have agencies, and instead works through third-party partners, brokers, and door-to-door representatives.

Mission: The company is focused on investing in the quality of its products and services to keep in line with the best international practices.

National milestone: STAS was the first Angolan company to fully digitise communication with its clients by sending all product documentation on WhatsApp upon receiving insurance payments. 

Key clients: Its clients include Sonangol Integrated Logistics Services, Angola Environmental Serviços and Algoa Cabinda Fabrication Services.

Growth strategy: The company plans on growing its customer base by investing in new digital applications to enhance its online presence and increase its responsiveness as an insurer.
