MPHC organises its business under two segments – petrochemicals and chlor-alkali – and operates through three subsidiaries:

  • Qatar Chemical Company (Q-Chem I)
  • Qatar Chemical Company II (Q-Chem II)
  • Qatar Vinyl Company (QVC)

Q-Chem I and Q-Chem II comprise MPHC’s petrochemicals segment and are jointly owned by MPHC and Chevron Phillips Chemical International Qatar Holdings, each with a 49% stake, and QatarEnergy, with 2%. The companies manufacture ethylene, medium- and high-density polyethylene, normal alpha olefins fractions ranging from C4 to C30 and limited quantities of pyrolysis gasoline.
