NRGI Broker

NRGI Broker is a Mexican intermediary company that arranges insurance, reinsurance and surety bonds with a specialisation in the maritime and energy industry. It operates through two Group companies: Energy Insurance Broker and NRGI Re.  In addition to its core insurance services, NRGI Broker also provides risk management, regulatory and environmental consultancy services.

NRGI Broker works with international underwriters and P&I clubs to create comprehensive coverage plans for companies in the oil and gas, power, transportation and industrial spaces.

• Onshore and offshore production insurance. In addition to the mandatory insurance mandated by the government for companies that engage in oil and gas exploration and production activities, NRGI Broker arranges comprehensive plans to cover incidents, unforeseen expenses and other production contingencies.
• Liability coverage, including general liability for damages to third parties, contractor liability, director and officer insurance, and errors and omissions protection
  Marine and cargo insurance for various types of vessels, activities and transported commodities, as well as for assets such as terminal and port infrastructure, offshore platforms and shipyards.
• Energy-specific coverage including well-control and re-drilling insurance, business interruption and natural catastrophe protection, and excess cost backstops.
• Environmental liability insurance for all aspects not covered by general liability insurance, including specialised policies for punitive damages due to spills and contamination, waste generation and emission, as well as coverage for fines and costs incurred for obligations such as remediation, restoration of flora and fauna and other claims.
• Surety services for oil and gas projects, including bid and performance bonds, concessions surety, advance payment and instalment insurance and labour contingencies.
• Construction and engineering insurance to cover damage to heavy equipment and machinery, contractor assets and infrastructure, as well as protection against natural risks and accidents.

The company also consults in the design and implementation of regulatory and human resources compliance plans, and in the design of environmental compliance, protection and liability programmes.

NRGI has acted as insurance advisor to Mexican public-sector entities and industrial organisations such as oil and gas sector regulator ASEA, Mexican energy council COMENER and the Mexican chamber of marine transportation, CAMEINTRAM.
