Grandweld Shipyards is an integrated shipyard in the UAE that provides shipbuilding, ship repair, conversions and engineering solutions. The company builds a range of aluminium-hull and steel-hull vessels, including crew boats and transfer vessels, security boats and fast ferries, offshore support vessels, workboats and tugs.

The company’s facilities are located in Dubai Maritime City (DMC) and cover more than 50,000 square metres, including:

• A 13,5000-square-metre covered yard with overhead cranes
• An 8,000-square-metre open yard
• 5,000 square metres of storage
• 20,000 square metres dedicated to outfitting and assembly operations
• 31 docking berths

For shipbuilding, Grandweld Shipyards has seven bays with built-in industrial gas and electrical supply equipped with overhead gantry cranes for large shipbuilding projects. The yard’s lifting capabilities include ship lifts up to 6,000 tonnes and a 720-tonne boat hoist. All facilities are integrated into the DMC’s broader industrial and shipping cluster to facilitate the movement of ships, materials and equipment, and they offer access to air and land transportation.

The company’s ship repair services include afloat repairs in various locations across the Emirates and drydocking in Dubai, where the company also has workshops to carry out repairs on equipment, engines and instrumentation. Grandweld Shipyards can service a wide range of vessel types, including offshore vessels, superyachts and merchant ships such as tankers, dry cargo carriers and container ships.

Grandweld Shipyards’s staff includes experienced maritime and commissioning engineers, naval architects and 3D designers. The company undertakes periodic modernisation and digitisation programmes and has modern design and engineering platforms as well as advanced production and project management platforms.
