KUWAIT CITY, October 9, 2025 – The Energy Year team in Kuwait had the privilege of visiting the headquarters of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), where they were warmly welcomed by the Secretary-General, H.E. Jamal Essa Al Loughani, and his team.

OAPEC fosters co-operation among its member countries to develop their petroleum industries and resources. Its objectives include uniting efforts to ensure the equitable flow of petroleum, safeguarding legitimate interests in the industry, co-ordinating the development of Arab energy resources, studying energy requirements and supporting joint ventures to build an integrated petroleum industry.

As part of the visit, the team toured OAPEC’s historic library – the oldest specialised energy library in the region, with collections dating back to the early 1900s.

The Energy Year thanks OAPEC for its hospitality and looks forward to continuing to highlight the organisation’s crucial role in promoting collaboration, research and dialogue across the energy industry.
