Seplat’s ANOH project delivers first gas in Nigeria

LAGOS, January 23, 2026 – Seplat Energy has achieved first gas at its ANOH gas project in Nigeria with initial flows to Indorama’s petrochemical plant, the company said on Tuesday.

The milestone follows completion of the 11-kilometre gas export pipeline and regulatory approval by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission. Four upstream wells were brought on line to supply the facility. Initial output has reached 1.13-1.47 mcm (40-52 mcf) per day of processed gas and 2,000-2,500 boepd of condensates, with expectations to ramp up to full capacity of around 8.5 mcm (300 mcf) per day.

A separate offtake agreement has been structured for interruptible supply to Nigeria LNG, supporting further scale-up. Construction on the OB3 pipeline to boost domestic market supply has resumed, with a revised completion date pending.

The ANOH gas plant, developed by ANOH Gas Processing Company, a joint venture between Seplat and Nigerian Gas Infrastructure Company, comprises two 150,000 mcf per day processing units, LPG recovery, condensate stabilisation, a 16-MW power plant and zero routine flaring systems.

The facility taps into an estimated gas resource of 130 bcm (4.6 tcf) and supports Seplat’s dual revenue strategy from gas sales and joint venture dividends. It will also enhance Seplat’s position as a leading supplier of LPG to Nigeria’s domestic market and help eliminate routine flaring in the Niger Delta.

“ANOH is the first of the seven critical gas development projects identified by Federal Government of Nigeria to commence operations… It will provide material income streams for Seplat, reduce our carbon intensity and contribute significantly to the 2030 production target,” Seplat Energy CEO Roger Brown said.

Seplat Energy is a Nigerian independent energy company listed in Lagos and London. It focuses on oil and gas exploration and production, with three major gas processing facilities in Nigeria. It also aims to achieve net zero by 2050 and enhance domestic energy access.
