Platform Capital is an investment and advisory firm based in Nigeria that invests in, owns and advises companies, mainly in growth markets in Africa.

The company participates across the full investment cycle, buying or backing businesses in both early development and mature stages of operations, assisting with fundraising in debt and equity markets, and providing corporate finance advice, including on restructurings and M&As.

Platform Capital also assists portfolio companies in strategy design, operations management, governance and talent development. The company primarily targets underserved sectors in Africa that offer opportunities for investment in infrastructure and businesses that can generate long-term economic value.

Through dedicated teams, Platform Capital contributes to projects through capital commitments and by facilitating market access for stakeholders, as well as by assisting in the development of strategic relationships and interfacing with government authorities while offering regulatory, financial and operational guidance.

Among other energy projects, Platform Capital backed one of Nigeria’s first fully integrated energy park, which has a 2,500-bpd modular refinery that the company plans to scale to 10,000 bpd, and gas processing facility with a capacity of 1.13 mcm (40 mcf), as well as storage and a power plant.

Platform Capital’s portfolio also includes investments in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods and manufacturing ventures. The company has invested in projects and companies in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya and Uganda, as well as in Asia and the Americas.
