North Oil Company operates the Al Shaheen oilfield located off the northeast coast of Qatar. The company was established as a joint venture between QatarEnergy and TotalEnergies in 2017. A major player in Qatar, it is responsible for 45% of the region’s oil production, equivalent to 300,000 bopd.

The Al Shaheen oilfield: Al Shaheen is located 80 kilometres northeast of Ras Laffan Industrial City and is Qatar’s largest oilfield. North Oil Company plans to maximise oil production in the Al Shaheen oilfield over the 25 years. The company has dozens of platforms and more than 430 wells already located in the field as of 2024. Moreover, the company continues to expand the field under its Gallaf Project, the second phase of the field’s development, and the Ruya project, the third phase of development.

North Oil Company aims to align itself with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and become a leading offshore operator. Specifically, the company contributes to these aims in the following ways:
