The EPC major

Petrofac is an international energy services company with a large part of its portfolio focused on its EPC capabilities. While based in Texas, Petrofac operates in around 29 countries. It serves the full energy value chain but specialises in production and processing services.

  • Operation centres: Petrofac operates from eight global centres located in Aberdeen, Abu Dhabi, Chennai, Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, Sharjah and Woking.
  • Oman focus: The company entered Oman in 1988, and with a successful track record in the country has been awarded multi-billion dollar contracts from PDO, ORPIC (now OQ) and BP Oman. It operates in Oman as Petrofac Engineering and Construction Oman.
  • Net zero: Petrofac has pledged itself to meet net zero carbon standards by 2030 under GHG Protocol scopes 1 and 2, which include direct emissions from operations and energy consumption.

Petrofac divides its business into two branches, namely engineering, construction, operation and maintenance (ECOM) and integrated energy services (IES). The ECOM division covers onshore engineering, procurement and construction projects, specifically in the Middle East, Africa and the Caspian region of the CIS, offshore engineering and construction services for greenfield and brownfield projects, and operations and maintenance support services. The IES division provides integrated engineering and construction services for upstream projects.
