Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited

Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited (PPGPL) is a Trinidadian company engaged in natural gas processing, fractionation, storage and NGLs marketing in the Caribbean. It is owned by NGC NGL Company Limited (51%), Trinidad and Tobago NGL Limited (39%) and Pan West Engineers and Constructors (10%).

In 2020, PPGPL acquired Twin Eagle Liquids Marketing, a Houston-based NGLs business, to transport and market NGLs in the US, Canada and Mexico. In 2022, the company acquired an NGLs terminal in Hull, Texas and a propane terminal in Rush City, Minnesota, as part of its expansion in North America.

PPGL’s facilities and assets include:

  • Three cryogenic gas processing plants with a total capacity of 55.2 mcm (1.95 bcf) per day
  • Three NGLs fractionators with a total capacity of 70,000 bpd
  • Six NGLs tanks with a total storage capacity of 1.25 million barrels
  • Two LPG marine export terminals with a loading rate of 10,000 barrels per hour able to accommodate vessels up to 54,000 cubic metres in capacity
  • One 54.7-kilometre NGLs pipeline
  • One isobutane facility with a capacity of 3,500 bpd

The company is based in Trinidad’s Point Lisas Industrial Estate, where it processes and separates natural gas into methane, ethane and NGLs. NGLs are combined with volumes from the Atlantic LNG, fractionated into propane, butane and natural gasoline and stored in tanks for subsequent distribution via tanker trucks or vessels. Ammonia and methanol are delivered to NGC for distribution to downstream industries and power generation plants on the island.

PPGL exports more than 6 million barrels of NGLs per year to the Eastern Caribbean, Europe and Africa. The company’s facility in Houston markets NGLs in the US, Canada and Mexico via rail.
