2024 average production:About 44,700 boepd

Wells drilled in La Cira Infantas:More than 1,300

SierraCol Energy is the largest independent oil producer in Colombia and accounts for approximately 10% of Colombia’s aggregate output. The company has four production hubs:

  • La Cira Infantas
  • Caño Limón
  • Central Llanos
  • Putumayo

SierraCol Energy’s 2P reserves in these areas are estimated at approximately 118 million boe. The company’s reserve recovery average was 142% over the 2018–2022 period, and its assets offer opportunities to sustain production for an extended period. Sierra Col Energy’s average production in 2024 was approximately 44,700 boepd.

In Caño Limón, SierraCol Energy operates the Cravo Norte, Rondón, Chipirón and Cosecha blocks in partnership with Ecopetrol, and has additional interests in the Llanos 39 and Llanos 52 blocks. The area has been in production since the 1980s and has yielded about 1.5 billion barrels to date. SierraCol Energy currently has more than 430 wells in production, whose output is evacuated via the Caño Limón–Coveñas pipeline, operated by Ecopetrol.

In Central Llanos, SierraCol Energy holds six producing blocks through Cedco, a 100% subsidiary. All oil produced is blended on location and transported through the Guarimena–Santiago pipeline to an  Ecopetrol-operated station for further processing and distribution.

La Cira Infantas, in the Middle Magdalena Basin, is a cluster of fields that has been in production since the early 1900s. SierraCol Energy has been conducting an extensive drilling campaign in the area with more than 1,300 wells carried out to date and the application of EOR techniques to boost production. The majority of output is sold to the Barrancabermeja refinery.

In Putumayo, SierraCol Energy has interests in six exploration blocks, all in proximity to existing production facilities and evacuation routes. The company has acquired more than 210 square kilometres of 3D seismic and confirmed drilling prospects for permitting and environmental approval.
