Allseas adds two to fleet

CHâTEL-SAINT-DENIS, May 7, 2025 – Switzerland-based offshore contractor Allseas has placed an order for two newbuild offshore construction vessels (OCVs) with Chinese state-owned Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group, Allseas announced on Monday.

The vessels will be based on the SALT 308 OCV design and feature advanced systems such as DP2 dynamic positioning, 150-tonne active heave-compensated cranes, dual work-class ROVs, 1,500-kWh battery storage systems and methanol-ready propulsion.

Each 100-metre-long vessel will have 1,100 square metres of deck space and will be able to accommodation up to 110 personnel. The first unit is scheduled for delivery in September 2026 and the second in December 2026. The acquisition is part of Allsea’s strategy to optimise its fleet for increasingly complex offshore and subsea operations.

“After carefully exploring all available options, it became clear that securing two next-generation newbuilds – fully optimised with the latest technology – was the best long-term solution to strengthen our capabilities and capture new opportunities in a growing offshore market,” said Dries van Strijp, Allseas’ vice-president of operations.

Allseas specialises in pipelay, heavy lift and subsea construction. The company was recently engaged for an offshore campaign in Brazil’s Buzios field to install 111 kilometres of rigid risers and flowlines in ultra-deep waters to link 16 wells to a FPSO.
