APA grows in North Slope with Savant Alaska acquisition
HOUSTON, June 12, 2026 – APA Corporation has agreed to acquire Savant Alaska to midstream, pipeline and field infrastructure assets as well as producing acreage adjacent to its existing holdings in Alaska, APA announced on Wednesday.
The deal includes the 40,000-bopd Badami production facilities and the 80,000-bpd Nutaaq Pipeline connecting the Badami field to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, as well as associated field infrastructure including a grind-and-inject system, barge landing and wharf facilities, runway access and accommodation facilities.
APA will also take ownership of approximately 17,000 net acres in the Badami field, which is currently producing about 1,500 bopd, approximately 75,000 net acres in the Grey Owl field and other non-unitised plots, bringing its total North Slope holdings to about 487,000 gross acres.
The company said the assets hold exploration potential to support its 2026-2027 drilling and appraisal programme and add future development flexibility.
“The acquisition of Savant secures control of strategic infrastructure adjacent to our eastern North Slope acreage, enhancing our ability to execute our planned drilling program efficiently. As we continue to appraise and de-risk our resource base, ownership of this infrastructure provides greater flexibility and optionality in future development planning,” said APA CEO John J. Christmann.
The company also announced it has assumed operatorship of the existing joint venture with Lagniappe Alaska and Santos subsidiary Oil Search (Alaska), and plans a two-well drilling campaign during the 2026-2027 winter season comprising one exploration well and one appraisal well.
APA is an oil and gas E&P company that operates in the US, the UK, Egypt and Suriname. In the US, the company operates assets in Alaska’s North Slope and in the Permian Basin and US Gulf through subsidiary Apache Corporation.
