ExxonMobil delays Liza phase 2 FID: reports
GEORGETOWN, November 26, 2018 – ExxonMobil has delayed plans to make a final investment decision on phase two of the Liza project offshore Guyana, local and international media reported over the weekend.
The delay is due to demands by Guyana’s government to review the field development plans more carefully, Stabroek News reported.
“[W]e advertised for international expertise to help us review the FDP that was submitted for Liza 2,” Mark Bynoe, the head of Guyana’s Department of Energy, told the newspaper. “The fact that it is going through a process possibly has postponed the decision (FID), from the operator’s standpoint.”
