ExxonMobil to develop algae biofuels
USA LA JOLLA, November 23, 2021 – Viridos has signed an agreement with ExxonMobil to develop biofuels from algae, the California-based biotechnology company announced on Friday.
The company plans to use its biofuels in heavy transport, including aviation and land and marine vehicles.
ExxonMobil supported Viridos in the building of its greenhouse facility in La Jolla, California.
“The recent productivity advances in Viridos’ technology are an opportunity to turn carbon dioxide into renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuels, providing an essential component for the decarbonization of the heavy-duty transportation industry,” said Oliver Fetzer, CEO of Viridos.
