Glencore, Total win Angola fuel tender

LUANDA, March 19, 2018 – Sonangol has awarded a refined products tender to Glencore and Total, displacing Trafigura as supplier, international media reported Friday.

Total will provide petrol, and Glencore is supplying diesel and marine diesel. The contract is set to last one year with a potential nine-month extension. 

Angola has been exploring other sources to feed its demand, despite its longstanding and close relationship with Trafigura through Puma Energy, a fuel retail and storage business in which Sonangol has invested with Trafigura.
