McDermott confirms Saudi deal
DUBAI, November 21, 2017 – McDermott International has won a “major” EPCI contract for the Safaniya field from Saudi Aramco, the engineering major announced on Monday.
The deal, valued at between USD 750 million and USD 1.5 billion according to the company’s definition of “major contract,” includes nine slipover jackets, 10 production deck modules and an electrical distribution platform, McDermott said in a statement.
“McDermott continues to receive contracts under the long-term agreement for Saudi Aramco’s most considerable projects,” said Linh Austin, McDermott’s vice-president for the Middle East and Caspian. “This award is a continuation of our long-standing relationship and successful track record with Saudi Aramco.”
The announcement came days after Aramco said it had signed several oil and gas service deals, including with McDermott, worth a total of USD 4.5 billion.
