LAGOS, November 14, 2024 – Nigeria’s NOC NNPC has agreed to supply the Dangote Refinery with 2.83 mcm of gas per day for the next 10 years, NNPC spokesperson Olufemi Soneye reported on Wednesday.

The two parties signed the agreement on Tuesday at Dangote Group headquarters. NNPC Gas Marketing Limited will supply the refinery with natural gas for power generation and feedstock. The contract contains options for renewal and additional supply. NNPC did not disclose the financial details of the agreement.

Soneye said, “This collaboration is a significant step toward ensuring the operational success of the Dangote Refinery and enhancing Nigeria’s domestic gas utilisation.”

The agreement is part of a larger strategy of NNPC and the federal government to support industrial growth and transition Nigeria’s economy to a gas-powered one.
