Oilfield services giants to bid in Brazil
RIO DE JANEIRO, June 7, 2018 – Halliburton and Schlumberger are preparing proposals to join Petrobras under a PSC for onshore acreage in Brazil, international media reported Wednesday.
Baker Hughes, a GE company is also considering the possibility of submitting a bid to partner with the NOC in the mature Canto do Amaro field in the Potiguar Basin.
The 15-year contract would allow for Petrobras to boost output and pay for services through produced oil, while freeing up capital for other activities.
Petrobras launched the tender in May and bids are due this month; however, Reuters reported that one of the oilfield services providers has requested an extension.
