Qatar hands $13-bln LNG deal to Chiyoda-Technip JV

DOHA, February 8, 2021 – Qatar Petroleum (QP) has awarded a USD 13-billion contract for four LNG trains for the giant North Field Expansion project to a joint venture of Chiyoda and Technip Energies.

Part of the North Field East project, each train will have a capacity of 8 million tonnes per year (tpy).

QP CEO Saad Sherida Al Kaabi told a press conference on Monday that the first expansion phase would cost USD 28.75 billion.
