QatarEnergy acquires stake in Lebanon’s offshore plays

DOHA, January 30, 2023 – QatarEnergy has acquired interest in two exploration blocks in Lebanon alongside partners TotalEnergies and Eni, the Qatari NOC announced on Sunday.

 

Under the agreements, the national E&P company will take 30% interest in Block 4 and Block 9, with Eni taking 35% stakes and TotalEnergies taking the remaining 35% operating stakes.

Block 4 covers an area of 1,910 square kilometres is located in water depths of around 1,500 metres.

Block 9 is located 80 kilometres off the shore of southern Lebanon and covers a total area of 1,750 square kilometres in water depths of around 1,700 metres.
