Seadrill signs drillship contract in Angola

LUANDA, April 25, 2022 – Seadrill has chartered its West Gemini drillship under a USD 161-million contract in Angola, the Bermudian offshore drilling contractor announced today.

The vessel will perform a ten-well exploration venture with options to extend the campaign by eight wells. Works are expected to begin in Q4 2022.

The contract was signed under Seadrill’s 50:50 joint venture with Angolan NOC Sonangol.

The ultra-deepwater West Gemini is the third drillship chartered under the joint venture.
