Seatrium wins Saudi jackup rig contract
SINGAPORE, February 20, 2025 – Seatrium Offshore Technology has been awarded a contract by Saudi Arabia’s International Maritime Industries (IMI) to supply equipment and licence for a LeTourneau Super 116E Class self-elevating jackup drilling unit, Kingdom 3, Seatrium announced on Wednesday.
The order is Seatrium’s 44th for a LeTourneau Super 116 Class jackup, a series designed for the operational requirements of the MENA region. It will be outfitted with 105 metres of leg and a 680-tonne hook load.
“This milestone marks the historic beginning of new-build construction in IMI since the yard’s opening and underscores the start of an ambitious long-term partnership with IMI to construct offshore jackups in Saudi Arabia,” Seatrium said in its announcement.
Seatrium builds vessels for clients in its yards and provides rig kits to others to fulfil local content requirements. The company has designed and been involved in constructing more than half of all jackup rigs in service and 65% of the jackups operating in the Middle East.
