SHI bags LNG FSRU newbuild
JAKARTA, October 23, 2017 – An Indonesian consortium composed of Pertamina, Marubeni and Sojitz, awarded Samsung Heavy Industries a contract for the construction of a 170,000-cubic-metre FSRU.
The vessel will be powered by LNG and outfitted with Samsung’s S-Regas LNG regasification system. The S-Regas system reduces energy consumption by some 5% while also reducing the probability of corrosion.
The newbuild vessel will regasify LNG resources to supply onshore consumers.
The development is SHI’s 19th newbuild LNG FSRU.
