Stricken Austrian gas hub back on stream

VIENNA, December 13, 2017 – The main lines from the Baumgarten gas hub in Austria, which transits about 10% of Europe’s natural gas supplies, are back online, international media reported on Wednesday.

A day earlier, Italy declared a state of emergency for its energy imports after a blast that killed one and injured 21 others shut the hub down on Tuesday.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, Euronews reported on Wednesday.
