Talos makes oil and gas find in US Gulf of Mexico

HOUSTON, September 5, 2024 – Talos Energy has made a commercial oil and gas find in US Gulf of Mexico, the company announced on Thursday.

The discovery was made at the company’s Ewing Bank 953 well. Preliminary data from the well indicate an estimated gross recoverable resource potential of 15 million-25 million boe.

Production from the well is expected to start in 2026 at a rate of 8,000-10,000 boepd.

Ewing Bank 953 encountered approximately 127 feet of net pay in the target sand at approximately 19,000 feet true vertical depth.
