TotalEnergies, ConocoPhillips reach first oil at Norway project
Norway STAVANGER, May 8, 2024 – TotalEnergies and ConocoPhillips have reached first oil production at the North Sea’s USD 1.2-billion Eldfisk North Project, located off Norway in the Greater Ekofisk Area, TotalEnergies said on Wednesday.
The project, situated in the PL018 licence, is operated by ConocoPhillips with a 35.112% stake, working alongside TotalEnergies, which holds 39.896%, Vår Energi (12.388%), Sval Energi (7.604%) and Petoro AS (5%).
The project was brought on line weeks ahead of schedule, according to ConocoPhillips Norway. Its development plan – which envirioned the drilling of up to 14 wells – was approved by Norwegian officials in December 2022.
The Eldfisk North Project holds a resource potential of 50 million-90 million boe. It is located around 7 kilometres from the Eldfisk Complex.
The project is expected to produce 15,000 boepd at peak.
