Surgutneftegas

Surgutneftegas is one of the largest oil companies in Russia. The company has its origins in the creation of the Soviet oil and gas industry in the 1970s and has been in operation for nearly 50 years. It is vertically integrated and carries out research and design, exploration, drilling, production, refining, gas processing and marketing. The company’s field operations are located in Western Siberia, Eastern Siberia and Timan-Pechora.

Surgutneftegas’s activities are organised into four groups:

• Exploration and production: E&P activities in the company’s three licence blocks
• Oil refining: Company-owned refinery producing petroleum products, including motor fuels, aromatics, liquid paraffin, construction materials, jet fuel and bitumen
• Gas production and use: Production of dry stripped gas and liquid hydrocarbons
• Marketing: Five subsidiaries that perform wholesaling, retailing and storage of petroleum products and other petrol-station services

Surgutneftegas is committed to ecological, social and labour responsibility. Regarding ecology, the company has a comprehensive set of measures for protecting the land, water and air and for protecting Russia’s northern indigenous minorities.
