Puma Energy is a Swiss multinational mid- and downstream oil company majority-owned by commodity trading player Trafigura. Puma Energy’s core business is the storage, sale and distribution of petroleum products through a global network of infrastructure and retail assets. The company operates in around 37 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

Midstream activities: The company owns 62 terminals and depots with a total of 3.1 million cubic metres of storage capacity for a variety of products, including automotive and aviation fuel, LPG and bitumen. Most of Puma’s storage capacity, around 1.2 million cubic metres, is located in Europe. The company owns and operates two refineries in Nicaragua and Papua New Guinea.

Downstream activities: Puma Energy’s core downstream segments are wholesale and retail automotive fuel, lubricants, aviation fuel, LPG and bitumen. The company owns and operates a network of around 2,000 branded petrol stations, primarily located in Latin America, that supply automotive fuel and convenience services.

Puma Energy supplies aviation fuel, including limited volumes of sustainable aviation fuel, at around 117 airports and airfields mostly located in Africa and Latin America. In the bitumen segment, the company has more than 400,000 tonnes of capacity for storage and blending supported by Trafigura’s fleet of owned and long-term chartered vessels for delivery.

The company is expanding its solar energy footprint through the deployment of solar installations and solarised petrol stations as part of its broader low-carbon strategy.
