NAMPOA announces new board leadership and organisational developments

The Namibian Petroleum Operators Association (NAMPOA) has announced recent changes to its board leadership, signalling a renewed strategic focus as the association continues to play a central role in promoting collaboration, dialogue and coordination within Namibia’s oil and gas industry.

Eduardo Rodriguez, country chair of Shell Namibia, has been appointed as the new chairperson of the board. He succeeds Klaus Endresen, who is stepping down after serving two terms in the role and contributing over 30 years of dedicated service to NAMPOA and the broader industry. Endresen, a founding member since NAMPOA’s inception in 1992, will remain active in the association as a representative of BW Kudu, continuing to offer his valuable experience and insights.

Selma Usiku, non-executive director at Eco Atlantic Oil & Gas, has been named vice-chairperson of the board. Her appointment is a significant step towards enhancing gender representation in Namibia’s energy leadership and reflects NAMPOA’s commitment to inclusive governance.

The board also welcomes Saave Nakashole, new ventures manager for upstream development and production at NAMCOR, as a new member. NAMCOR’s representation adds a critical national perspective to the association’s strategic outlook.

Together with existing board members Diogo Martins (country manager, Galp) and Laurent Roché (country manager, TotalEnergies), this diverse and experienced team will help guide NAMPOA’s strategic initiatives during a transformative period for Namibia’s petroleum sector, as offshore discoveries and exploration activities continue to elevate the country’s global profile.

As part of its organisational strengthening efforts, NAMPOA is also pleased to announce the appointment of Suoma Andreas as its first administrative coordinator, effective June 16, 2025. This new role is key to bolstering the association’s internal capabilities as the sector enters a crucial growth phase.

In her new position, Andreas will be responsible for managing daily operations, supporting member coordination and improving communications and project workflows. She holds a B. Juris and LLB from the University of Namibia, along with certifications in Compliance Management (UCT) and Executive Organisational Leadership (Stellenbosch). With over 10 years of experience across sectors such as investment, micro-lending, e-banking and mining, she brings strong governance expertise to the role.
