NNPC Limited is a global energy company. The company is the largest oil producer and supplier in Africa. Formerly the national oil company of Nigeria, NNPC has operated as a private for-profit company since 2021. Today its activities cover the entire energy value chain and are oriented towards realising the energy transition while ensuring Nigeria’s energy security.

NNPC has five business lines:

  • Upstream: Development of oil and gas reserves, oil and gas services and engineering
  • Downstream: Provision of energy supply stability for the domestic market, including energy trading, retail, shipping, storage and petrochemicals
  • Gas and Power: Development of gas processing and transmission networks
  • New Energy: Sustainable, low-carbon and carbon-neutral energy solutions, including carbon-neutral fuels, biofuels, renewable energy and greenhouse gas emission reduction projects
  • Non-energy: Non-core energy business ventures, including investments, training, real estate and healthcare

NNPC’s seeks to grow its global capacity to deliver energy. To achieve this goal, the company is increasing upstream production and revamping its refining assets with greenfield projects which integrate chemicals production. NNPC further looks to expand gas processing and develop its transportation services to meet both domestic and international demand. While ensuring these goals, the company also focuses on environmental sustainability through its long-term decarbonisation programme and investments in renewable energy.
