Sonangol – Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola EP – is the Angolan state-owned oil company. Established in 1976, Sonangol is responsible for the exploration, production, manufacture, transport, and commercialisation of hydrocarbons in Angola. Under the 2019-2022 governmental Privatisation Programme, Sonangol has been undertaking an asset divestment strategy intended to make the company more efficient in exploration and production and diversified across the energy chain while encouraging private investments.
