Chevron to explore ultra-deepwater Angola blocks

LUANDA, June 19, 2024 – Chevron has signed on to explore two ultra-deepwater blocks off Angola via its local subsidiary, Cabinda Gulf Oil Company (CABGOC), Upstream Online reported on Wednesday.

The company signed risk service contracts for blocks 49 and 50, in its first departure from long-term Cabinda-area assets blocks 0 and 14, the report said.

 

Blocks 0 and 14 supply gas to the Chevron-operated Angola LNG plant.

The blocks are situated nearby the TotalEnergies-operated Block 32, which is in production with two FPSO vessels.
