ExxonMobil plans up to 30 wells at new Guyana project

GEORGETOWN, July 16, 2024 – ExxonMobil is planning to drill up to 30 wells at its new project in Guyana, Hammerhead, Reuters reported on Monday.

The plans were revealed by the country’s Environmental Protection Agency on Sunday.

 

Hammerhead, ExxonMobil’s seventh oil and gas project on its prolific Stabroek block in Guyana, is slated to produce 120,000-180,000 bopd. A production start is targeted for 2029.

The project involves the conversion of a VLCC to an FPSO.

The vessel will have a storage capacity of up to 2 million barrels and will be stationed 15 kilometres south of the company’s Liza Destiny FPSO.
